Granon

Start: Saint-Chaffrey (1364m).

Road:

From the start, the slope is immediately over 10%. Then, the slope is always over 8 %, which requires a regular effort. When you leave the forest (half-way), the slope becomes very stiff and you feel this climb is not like other. Even it is not so long (11km), a perfect state of health is required, with several hours of training before.
The other side is not paved, which explains why the Tour de France has only visted this pass once in 1986 (finish at the top).
