Short bio

I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Machine Learning Group at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (from October 2013 as Chargée de recherche of the Fund for the Scientific Research F.R.S.-FNRS of Belgium's French Community).

I'm also affiliated to the Interuniversity Istitute of Bioinformatics in Brussels (IB)2

I was born in Rome and I obtained my bachelor and master degrees in Computer Engineering at the University of Rome (Tor Vergata). I obtained the Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Trento (Italy) on the 16th of December 2010.

My research interests have mainly focused on investigating machine learning techniques for solving structural bioinformatics problems. Recently I'm focusing more on the quantification and prediction of protein backbone and side-chain dynamics.

I also worked on algorithms for improving a genome assembly exploiting next generation sequencing data at the Foundation Edmund Mach (FEM-IASMA) Research Center and I was involved in the Aurora Science Project.
