Vars Pass (2111m)

From Guillestre, the climb begins immediately hard with a slope at about 8%. After some hairpins, the road follows a cliff and becomes easier before reaching the village of Saint-Marcellin where there is even a slight descent. At Sainte-Marie, there is a steeper descent, but the road continues with harder slope until the Napoleon refuge, a few km from the top. From there, the climb is not very hard.
